First time visit was for lunch.
The place looks like nothing, but the food is very very good. I had a special Panko/buttermilk fried flounder, potatoes au gratin, and grilled asparagus. Everything was so tasty - their chef really knows what they're doing! The service was disinterested and distracted, and the fish was a bit overdone - you got watch that fryer, guys. Portions could be bigger, too - I'm a medium size woman and could have eaten more - largely because the meal was so tasty. Still, for a first time meal, I was very happy with the flavors and overall interesting menu. I'll definitely return.

I went to Fishbones after searching the city for interesting cuisine at a reasonable price. I finally found this place on my way home. I walked in and immediately loved the atmosphere. It is a modern style artistic pub. I went and had a seat at a bar. The service was a little slow but the bar was full and I fully understood. I ordered a sweet tea and the shrimp and grits. It came to the table 5 mins later blazing hot. Within the first bite I knew that I would be returning. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and the grits were cheesy and delicious. I asked to see the menu again and I looked for what I will be ordering next time. The thing that caught my eye was the chicken fired pork loin sandwich with the burgundy-veal demi-glaze. The sides are fantastic as well. Blacked Green Beans, Black beans, cheddar grits, and more. The food is fantastic. The atmosphere is fun. All in all I would give it a 9/10.
